    As a service to SCAG members and policy makers, SCAG prepares the Housing Element Compliance and Building Permit Issuance Report to monitor the progress and performance towards meeting the housing goals in the region. This report is organized into six parts with detailed information on housing element compliance status, building permit issuance as compared to new housing construction needs, and low income housing tax credit projects in the SCAG region.

  • Economic and Demographic Data
    The Economic and Demographic Data page is a treasure chest of information. This page has electronic data sets available on the Internet only at this site. Data categories include Population, Employment, and Unemployment, Average Firm Size, Housing, and Agricultural Productions, just to name a few. In most cases, data is presented on the regional, subregional, county, and city-level for Southern California.

  • 2000 Demographic Statistics
    Based on Census 2000 Summary File 1, including three general profiles for each subregion or city:

    Profile 1: Person by race, age, & sex; households, and families by race and by type;
    Profile 2: Households and families by type; household relationship by age;
    Profile 3: Housing unit tenure, vacancy type, household size, householder race/age.
