Regional Comprehensive Plan

The Regional Comprehensive Plan (RCP) will be adopted simultaneously with the update of the 2004 Regional Transportation Plan. SCAG is developing an RCP for the purpose of fulfilling new federal planning requirements contained in the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), which call for regions to consider urban form and natural resources as part of the transportation planning process. Further, SCAG's RCP will include and implement the mitigation plan associated with the 2004 Regional Transportation Plan.

Anyone interested in participating in the development of the plan is welcome. The monthly meetings of the RCP Task Force are open to the public. Additionally, staff is available to make presentations on the planning process to groups around the region. This RCP is built around the Compass Growth Vision and 2% Strategy adopted by the Regional Council in April 2004. The recommendations made within each chapter are comprised of infrastructure and resource activities consistent with the envisioned growth pattern.

Additional resources, including preliminary chapters can be found on the RCP website
